Grilled chicken pesto, Cafe Xocolat (near Katipunan, QC)
It is sandwiched by fluffy pita bread, and comes with potato chips and fried dilis on the side (I actually got excited with the dilis more than anything else). Heavy on the tummy! The refreshing red grape shake can help push it down.

Fish Cake, Yum Restaurant (Radisson Hotel, Dubai)
One of the best fish cakes in Dubai! Crunchy and tender served with the perfect sweet chili sauce! It costs 48 dirhams, quite pricey considering the number of pieces which you cannot fairly share (equality wise) with your lunch buddies unless you’re five in the group. But this so yummeh you’d keep coming back nonetheless!

Gyoza Ramen, Teriyaki Boy, Greenhills, San Juan

Had this with Ilia and Penny the last time we had our 8T. This is 1 of the 3 meals we ordered. This particular meal has about 4 pieces of steamed gyoza. The serving is good for 2 or 3 people for only P160.00 if I am not mistaken. The noodles were a bit soggy maybe because we waited for several minutes before we got our bowls to be served. Suffice to say, I got my noodle-soup craving satisfied that day!

Sloppy Dog (?), Banchetto, Ortigas

When I asked the vendor what it’s called, she just shrugged so I just invented the name. It’s a sloppy joe and hotdog sandwich rolled into one. Oh and the orange sauce on top is melted cheese. You’ll definitely ask for another round. NOM NOM NOM.

Mixed 18” thin crust pizza, NY Pizza Express (Jose Abad Santos, San Juan City)
This pizza place is just less than a hundred steps from our house. Their pizza flavors are named after places in New York. You can choose different flavors for pizza quarters. If I remember correctly, we chose Madison Big Meat Combo, Libby’s All in Supreme, and Manhattan White Chicken. Oh my gosh, the white chicken is sooo delish. I’m telling ya. It’s about Php600++ for the whole 18” pizza.

Fried Chicken and Menudo, R.M. Cadapan (Raymundo, Los Baños, Laguna)
This place, more commonly known as Ellen’s, is a beloved food hangout of UPLB students. Their fried chicken is seriously awesome. A typical meal is a piece of chicken, half serving of ulam, rice, and free bowl of soup. The meal in the photo cost just Php65. Awesome, right?

Perfect Match (Breakfast Meal), Pancake House (Greenhills)
I’m a real sucker for all-day breakfast meals because they’re really comforting. And this one’s no different. I should have asked for the eggs to be scrambled, though. Around Php160 I think — includes coffee or tea.

Fried Calamari, Fish & Co. (Al Ghurair Mall, Dubai)
Squeeze the lemon all over. Grab one and dunk it in the tartar sauce. Eww tartar. This is so yummeh as the waiter who’s wearing this  ”We have mussels”  shirt printed at the back. Whatta cool uniform!

Homemade Burgers, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro
For my family’s New Year’s celebration, we went for a somewhat American-style outdoor barbecue complete with ribs, spaghetti, fries, and these. The patties, though seemingly small are quite filling on their own. The only real thing that’s limiting their size is size of the buns we can find in bakeries around town. They don’t make ‘em in larger sizes. Oh well. And yes, Nan, these are made from that recipe I told you about.

Tom Yum Kung Soup, Thailand Pavilion (Global Village, Dubai)
Seafood, chicken, or veggies? Medium spicy or spicy? Pick your choice! It only costs 20 dirhams to taste Thailand’s heaven, and to feel warm in this cold desert!

Crepe Cake ( Starbucks )
Crepe made into a cake. Not too sweet. Yummy enough. But I’d still go for their Chocolate Cake.

Pancit Bam-i (C2 Classic Cuisine)
We got invited by DK to the opening of C2 at Greenhills. This dish looks like Palabok and I really don’t know what’s the difference but I must say this is yummy and it’s a really big serving.

Brazo de Mercedes (1851 Club, BPI Head Office, Makati City)
One of my favorite cakes in the whole wide world. The lightness of the cake is like a slice of heaven, forgive the cliché. This is among the best I’ve tasted. Plus it was free. No complaints there.

Cheezy Potatoes with Turbo Grilled Chicken (Homemade, San Juan City)
This is what I would call a fortunate mistake. Warning, this takes time to make because I boil the potatoes first and then bake them. I used Cheez Whiz and quickmelt cheese with ham bits for the potatoes. I was too lazy to use a different container so the chicken juice and the cheesy sauce mixed and the result was rather delish. Good for a salty fix.

Tomato and Eggplant Pasta (Homemade, San Juan City)
Quick, cheap, and so perfect for office baon. I overcooked the noodles a little bit, if you can see they’re quite plump. But overall, my officemates’ verdict is yummy! Don’t be a scrooge with the cheese, ha.
